Mango smoothie is a creamy, refreshing tropical drink made with sweet mango, yogurt, and milk. Ready in just minutes, it makes an easy breakfast, afternoon snack, or cool summer treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk, plus more as needed
  • 12 teaspoons honey or maple syrup, optional
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes, optional
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional

Instructions

  1. If using fresh mango, peel and chop it into chunks. Add frozen mango directly to the blender if using.
  2. Place the mango chunks, yogurt, and milk in a high-speed blender.
  3. Add honey or maple syrup if the mango is not naturally sweet enough.
  4. Add fresh lime juice for a brighter, slightly tangy flavor and vanilla extract if desired.
  5. If using fresh mango, add the optional ice cubes for a colder, thicker smoothie. Ice is usually unnecessary with frozen mango.
  6. Blend on high speed until completely smooth and creamy.
  7. Check the consistency. Add another splash of milk if the smoothie is too thick, or add more frozen mango or yogurt if it is too thin.
  8. Taste and adjust the sweetness or lime juice as needed.
  9. Pour into glasses and serve immediately while cold and creamy.

Notes

  • Frozen mango creates a thicker, frostier smoothie, while ripe fresh mango produces a softer consistency.
  • For a mango banana smoothie, add one ripe or frozen banana for extra sweetness and creaminess.
  • For a tropical variation, add pineapple and use coconut milk.
  • For a mango strawberry smoothie, blend fresh or frozen strawberries with the mango.
  • For a dairy-free version, use coconut, almond, oat, or another plant-based milk with dairy-free yogurt.
  • For a more filling breakfast smoothie, add rolled oats, chia seeds, flaxseed, or nut butter.
  • Ripe mango may provide enough sweetness without honey, maple syrup, or other added sweeteners.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and shake or stir well before drinking.
  • For longer storage, freeze leftover smoothie in ice cube trays and blend the frozen cubes with a splash of milk when ready to serve.
