1/4 cup pasta cooking water (reserved)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water, then drain.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest.
Add the cooked pasta and toss to coat.
Pour in reserved pasta water gradually to create a smooth sauce.
Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Garnish with parsley if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Add grilled chicken, shrimp, or salmon for extra protein.
Toss in vegetables like spinach, asparagus, or peas for added nutrition.
Add a splash of cream for a richer, creamier sauce.
Use fresh lemon juice for the best flavor.
Add extra pasta water when reheating to loosen the sauce.
