Lemon Asparagus Pasta is a light and refreshing dish featuring tender pasta, crisp asparagus, and bright lemon flavor tossed with garlic and Parmesan cheese. Perfect for spring and summer meals, this easy pasta recipe is elegant, comforting, and full of fresh flavor.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces pasta such as linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions.
  2. During the last 2 to 3 minutes of cooking, add the asparagus to the boiling pasta water.
  3. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and asparagus.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Stir in lemon zest and lemon juice.
  7. Add the drained pasta and asparagus to the skillet and toss well to combine.
  8. Sprinkle in Parmesan cheese and add reserved pasta water a little at a time until a light sauce forms.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
  11. Serve warm immediately.
