Ingredients
1 teaspoon dried culinary lavender
1 tea bag black or herbal tea
1 cup water
1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
Bring water to a gentle boil, then remove from heat.
Add dried lavender and tea, and let steep for 5–7 minutes.
Strain the tea into a mug, removing lavender and tea leaves or bag.
Stir in honey or sugar while the tea is still warm.
In a small saucepan, heat the milk until hot but not boiling.
Froth the milk using a frother, whisk, or by shaking in a jar.
Pour the warm milk over the brewed tea and stir gently.
Add vanilla extract if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Use culinary-grade lavender to ensure safe consumption.
Avoid over-steeping to prevent a bitter or soapy flavor.
Use plant-based milk for a dairy-free option.
For an iced version, cool the tea and serve over ice with cold milk.
