July 4 Fruit Salad is a colorful and refreshing patriotic dessert made with red, white, and blue fruits. It’s festive, healthy, and easy to prepare—perfect for barbecues, picnics, or any summer celebration.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups strawberries, hulled and halved
  2. 1 cup blueberries
  3. 1 cup raspberries
  4. 3 cups watermelon, cut into stars or cubes
  5. 2 apples or 2 bananas, chopped (for white fruit)
  6. Optional: 1 cup mini marshmallows
  7. Optional: 2 tbsp honey or lime juice drizzle
  8. Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

Wash and prep all fruit: hull and halve strawberries, rinse blueberries and raspberries, cut watermelon into stars or cubes, and chop apples or bananas.

  1. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine prepared fruit.
  2. If using, fold in mini marshmallows or drizzle with honey/lime juice.
  3. Chill in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  4. Garnish with mint leaves before serving, if desired.

Notes

  1. Bananas brown quickly—add just before serving if using.
  2. Lemon or lime juice helps keep apples or bananas from browning.
  3. Use star-shaped cookie cutters for watermelon to emphasize the patriotic theme.
  4. Best eaten fresh; leftovers last up to 2 days in the fridge.
