Jelly & Goat Cheese Puff Pastry Tartlets are flaky, buttery appetizers topped with creamy goat cheese and sweet fruit jelly for the perfect sweet and savory bite. These elegant tartlets are ideal for parties, brunches, holiday gatherings, or easy entertaining.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz goat cheese
  • 1/3 cup fruit jelly or preserves
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Flour for dusting
  • Optional chopped pistachios or walnuts for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly.
  3. Cut the puff pastry into 12 small squares or circles and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Using a knife, lightly score a border around each pastry piece without cutting all the way through.
  5. Prick the centers gently with a fork to prevent excessive puffing.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it around the edges of the pastry.
  7. Add a small spoonful of goat cheese to the center of each tartlet.
  8. Top with a small amount of fruit jelly or preserves.
  9. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and drizzle lightly with honey.
  11. Garnish with fresh thyme, rosemary, black pepper, or chopped nuts if desired.
  12. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Fig jam, raspberry preserves, apricot jelly, and blackberry jam all pair beautifully with goat cheese.
  • Do not overfill the tartlets to keep the pastry crisp and flaky.
  • Brie or cream cheese can be substituted for goat cheese.
  • Add caramelized onions or balsamic glaze for a savory variation.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven for best texture.
  • These tartlets can be assembled ahead of time and baked just before serving.
