Ingredients

  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 jalapeños, finely diced
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Cooking spray or vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, jalapeños, bacon, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until well blended.
  3. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface and spoon about 1 teaspoon of filling into the center.
  4. Brush the edges with beaten egg.
  5. Fold into a triangle or bring all four corners together to form a pouch, pressing firmly to seal.
  6. Arrange the wontons on a baking sheet and lightly coat with cooking spray.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy. For the air fryer, cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8 to 10 minutes.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Remove the jalapeño seeds and membranes for a milder filling.
  • Pepper Jack or smoked Gouda can be substituted for different flavor variations.
  • Freeze assembled uncooked wontons for up to 2 months and cook directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes.
  • Serve with ranch dressing, spicy mayo, sweet chili sauce, chipotle aioli, or sour cream dip.
  • Reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain a crispy texture.
