Honeydew Sago is a refreshing and creamy dessert drink made with sweet honeydew melon, chewy sago pearls, and coconut milk. This chilled Asian-inspired treat is light, fruity, and perfect for warm days when you want something cool and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups honeydew melon, cubed
  • 1/2 cup small sago pearls
  • 1 cup coconut milk or whole milk
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk or sugar
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Extra honeydew balls (optional)
  • Mint leaves (optional)
  • Chia seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the sago pearls.
  2. Cook the sago according to the package directions, stirring occasionally until the pearls turn mostly translucent.
  3. Turn off the heat, cover the pot, and let the sago sit for a few minutes until fully translucent.
  4. Drain and rinse the cooked sago under cold water to remove excess starch.
  5. In a blender, combine the honeydew melon, coconut milk or milk, condensed milk or sugar, cold water, and ice cubes.
  6. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  7. Divide the cooked sago into serving bowls or glasses.
  8. Pour the blended honeydew mixture over the sago.
  9. Top with extra honeydew cubes, mint leaves, or chia seeds if desired.
  10. Serve chilled immediately.

Notes

  • Use cantaloupe instead of honeydew for a different melon flavor.
  • Frozen honeydew creates a thicker and colder dessert texture.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and stir before serving.
  • Add mango chunks or fresh mint for extra tropical flavor.
  • Small tapioca pearls can be substituted for sago pearls.
