A creamy, refreshing avocado dip flavored with sweet honey and bright fresh citrus. This quick no-cook dip is perfect with fresh fruit, crackers, tortilla chips, or toasted bread.

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe avocados
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, optional
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt, optional for extra creaminess

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a food processor or blender.
  2. Add the fresh lime juice, orange juice, orange zest, and lime zest to the avocado.
  3. Drizzle in the honey and add the salt. Add the cinnamon if desired.
  4. Blend until completely smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. For an extra-creamy consistency, blend in 1 to 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt.
  5. Taste and adjust the flavor as desired. Add a little more honey for sweetness or additional lime or orange juice for a brighter citrus flavor.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve immediately with fresh fruit, crackers, toasted pita, tortilla chips, or toasted bread.

Notes

  • Use fully ripe avocados for the smoothest, creamiest texture.
  • For a spicy variation, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or finely chopped jalapeño.
  • Coconut yogurt can replace Greek yogurt for a subtle tropical flavor.
  • For a tropical variation, replace some of the orange juice with pineapple juice.
  • For a savory version, reduce the honey and add chopped cilantro, black pepper, and extra lime juice.
  • For a chunkier texture, mash the avocado by hand instead of using a blender.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed directly against the surface and refrigerate for up to 1 to 2 days.
  • This dip is best served fresh and should not be reheated or frozen.
