Honey Butter Skillet Corn is a quick, creamy side dish featuring tender corn coated with sweet honey, rich butter, and melted cream cheese. It comes together in one skillet for an easy sweet-and-savory addition to weeknight or holiday meals.

Ingredients

  • Frozen corn
  • Unsalted butter
  • Honey
  • Cream cheese, cubed
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Chopped fresh parsley or green onions, optional

Instructions

  1. Place a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter and honey.
  2. Let the butter melt, then stir it together with the honey until combined.
  3. Add the frozen corn directly to the skillet and stir until the kernels are evenly coated with the honey-butter mixture.
  4. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the corn is hot and tender.
  5. Add the cubed cream cheese, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Reduce the heat slightly and continue cooking and stirring until the cream cheese is completely melted and evenly coats the corn.
  7. Taste and adjust the salt, black pepper, or honey as desired.
  8. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the corn stand for 1–2 minutes so the creamy sauce can thicken slightly.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley or green onions if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • Frozen corn can be added directly to the skillet without thawing.
  • For a spicy variation, add a small amount of cayenne pepper, chili flakes, or finely diced jalapeño.
  • For garlic honey butter corn, briefly cook minced garlic in the melted butter before adding the corn.
  • Cooked crumbled bacon can be stirred into the finished corn for a smoky, savory variation.
  • Fresh corn kernels can replace frozen corn; adjust the cooking time until tender.
  • For extra richness, stir in a small amount of shredded cheddar or Parmesan over low heat.
  • Drained canned corn can be substituted for frozen corn, but reduce the cooking time because it is already tender.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3–4 days.
  • Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave, adding a small splash of milk if the sauce becomes too thick.
