Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour
  • active dry yeast
  • warm milk
  • sugar
  • butter
  • eggs
  • salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar and let sit for 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, softened butter, and the yeast mixture.
  4. Mix until a soft dough forms, then knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide into equal portions.
  7. Shape into balls and place in a greased baking dish.
  8. Cover and let rise again for 30 to 45 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  10. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
