Ingredients

  • 56 green tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 12 jalapeño or serrano peppers
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine green tomatoes, onion, garlic, and peppers.
  2. Cook over medium heat for 10–15 minutes until softened.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. Transfer mixture to a blender or food processor.
  5. Add cilantro, lime juice, salt, and black pepper.
