Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, optional
  • 2 cups spinach, optional
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Season the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper and place them in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the minced garlic, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the lemon juice and lemon zest and stir until the sauce is creamy and well combined.
  7. Add spinach or cherry tomatoes to the baking dish if using.
  8. Pour the lemon Parmesan cream sauce over the salmon fillets.
  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Freshly grated Parmesan melts more smoothly than pre-grated cheese.
  • Spinach, cherry tomatoes, or asparagus can be added to the baking dish for a complete meal.
  • Cod or tilapia can be used in place of salmon.
  • Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for gentle heat.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat gently to keep the salmon tender and the sauce smooth.
  • Thaw frozen salmon completely before cooking for the best texture.
