Ingredients

  • Ripe bananas
  • Unsalted butter
  • Brown sugar

  • Whipped cream (optional topping)
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and slice them into thick rounds or lengthwise halves.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the butter and allow it to melt completely.
  4. Stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon until combined.
  5. Place the bananas into the skillet in a single layer.
  6. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes on one side until golden and caramelized.
  7. Carefully turn the bananas and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  8. Add the vanilla extract and gently stir to coat the bananas in the caramel sauce.
  9. Remove from the heat and serve immediately.
  10. Top with honey, maple syrup, nuts, whipped cream, or ice cream if desired.
