Ingredients

  • 2 refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Chocolate shavings or curls for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Roll the pie crusts into a large rectangular baking sheet or jelly roll pan, pressing gently into the corners.
  3. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and prick lightly with a fork.
  4. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown, then allow the crust to cool completely.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  6. Add the melted chocolate, vanilla extract, and salt, mixing until smooth.
  7. Add the eggs one at a time, beating for several minutes after each addition until the filling becomes silky and airy.
  8. Spread the filling evenly over the cooled crust.
  9. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  10. Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the chocolate filling.
  11. Garnish with chocolate shavings or curls.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before slicing and serving.
