Ingredients

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 12 oz deli roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup French onion dip or French onion spread
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded provolone or Swiss cheese
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1/2 cup caramelized onions
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons horseradish sauce
  • Optional: spinach leaves
  • Optional: crispy fried onions
  • Optional: Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, French onion dip, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth and well blended.
  2. Lay the tortillas flat on a clean work surface.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over each tortilla.
  4. Layer the deli roast beef evenly across the tortillas.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese and sliced green onions over the roast beef.
  6. Add any optional ingredients such as caramelized onions, spinach, or horseradish sauce.
  7. Roll each tortilla tightly into a log shape.
  8. Wrap each roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  9. Remove from the refrigerator and slice into 1-inch pinwheels.
  10. Arrange on a serving platter and serve chilled or slightly warmed.

Notes

  • Thinly sliced deli roast beef works best for easy rolling.
  • Chill the rolls before slicing to help the pinwheels hold their shape.
  • Swap Swiss cheese with cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack for different flavor variations.
  • Spinach or tomato basil tortillas add extra color and flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For warm pinwheels, heat in a 300°F oven for about 5 minutes before serving.
  • Freezing is not recommended as tortillas may become soggy after thawing.
