Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix sourdough starter, flour, and milk until smooth. Let rest if desired.
  2. Add eggs, melted butter, sugar, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  3. Sprinkle in baking soda and salt, gently stirring until incorporated and slightly bubbly.
  4. Preheat waffle iron and lightly grease if needed.
  5. Pour batter into waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Remove waffles carefully and serve warm.
