Fluffy saffron rice infused with warm aromatic flavors and a golden hue, perfect as a fragrant side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
  • 2 tablespoons warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain well.
  2. Soak the saffron threads in warm milk for 5 minutes to release color and aroma.
  3. In a saucepan, bring water, butter or oil, and salt to a boil.
  4. Add the rinsed rice, stir once, and reduce heat to low.
  5. Pour in the saffron milk mixture evenly over the rice.
  6. Cover and cook for 15 minutes until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  7. Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes, then fluff gently with a fork before serving.
