Egyptian Mint Lemonade is a refreshing blended drink made with fresh lemons, mint leaves, sugar, and ice for a bright and cooling beverage. Popular during hot weather, this icy lemonade is vibrant, citrusy, and incredibly refreshing.

Ingredients

  • 4 large lemons
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Extra mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash the lemons thoroughly. Peel lightly if desired for a less bitter flavor, then cut into quarters and remove any seeds.
  2. Add the lemons, mint leaves, sugar, cold water, and ice cubes to a blender.
  3. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and frothy.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or water as needed.
  5. Strain through a fine mesh sieve if you prefer a smoother texture.
  6. Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs.
  7. Serve immediately while cold and refreshing.

Notes

  • Use sparkling water instead of still water for a fizzy variation.
  • Add cucumber for an extra cooling twist.
  • Honey can replace sugar for a natural sweetener option.
  • Blend in strawberries or watermelon for a fruity variation.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and stir before serving.
  • Removing some or all lemon peel reduces bitterness.
