Easy Homemade Honey Butter is a smooth, creamy spread that blends rich butter with sweet honey for an irresistible topping. It’s perfect for biscuits, rolls, pancakes, waffles, cornbread, and more.

Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter, softened
  • Honey
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
  • Vanilla extract (optional)
  • Fine sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the softened butter in a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Add the honey, and if using, the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Beat with a hand mixer or stand mixer for 2–3 minutes until light, fluffy, and well combined.
  4. Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey if desired.
  5. Transfer the honey butter to a serving dish or an airtight container.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to use.
  7. Allow refrigerated honey butter to soften slightly before serving for the best spreadable consistency.

Notes

  • Use softened butter for the smoothest texture.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months and thaw in the refrigerator before using.
  • Add cinnamon, orange zest, or vanilla bean paste for flavorful variations.
  • Serve with biscuits, rolls, cornbread, pancakes, waffles, or toast.
