Easy Grilled Cola Burgers are juicy, flavorful burgers infused with the subtle sweetness of cola for a caramelized, savory finish. They’re perfect for backyard barbecues, weeknight grilling, or casual family dinners.

Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • Cola
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Hamburger buns or brioche buns
  • Cheddar, American, or Swiss cheese slices
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion slices
  • Pickle slices
  • Ketchup
  • Mustard
  • Mayonnaise
  • Barbecue sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, cola, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until just mixed.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into burger patties about 3/4 inch thick. Press a small indentation into the center of each patty.
  3. Preheat a grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  4. Grill the burgers for 4–5 minutes per side, or until they reach your preferred doneness.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, top each burger with a slice of cheese and close the grill lid until melted.
  6. Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1–2 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Assemble the burgers with your preferred toppings and condiments.
  8. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Use regular cola for the best caramelization and flavor.
  • Avoid overmixing the beef to keep the burgers tender and juicy.
  • Do not press the burgers while grilling, as this releases flavorful juices.
  • Prepare the patties up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate until ready to grill.
  • Store cooked patties in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze cooked or uncooked patties for up to 3 months.
