These Easy Garlic Parmesan Fries are crispy, golden fries coated in a garlic butter sauce and topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Perfect as a side dish, snack, or appetizer, these fries deliver a delicious, savory flavor with every bite.

Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes (or about 2 lbs of frozen fries)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced, or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. If using fresh potatoes, peel (optional) and cut into 1/4 inch thick strips. Rinse in cold water, pat dry with paper towels, and set aside. If using frozen fries, skip this step.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the fries in a large bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway, until fries are golden and crispy. If using frozen fries, follow package instructions.
  4. While fries bake, melt butter in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Once fries are baked, drizzle garlic Parmesan butter over them and toss to coat evenly.
  6. Top with chopped parsley for added freshness and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, pat the potatoes dry after rinsing and make sure to flip them halfway through baking.
  • If using sweet potatoes, they work wonderfully with the garlic Parmesan topping for a slightly sweeter flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven to restore crispiness.
