Ingredients
5 cups apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter, cold and cubed
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional: 1/2 cup oats
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Place sliced apples in a baking dish.
Toss apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, salt, and oats if using.
Cut in butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples.
Bake for 35–40 minutes until topping is golden and apples are tender.
Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Fuji.
Add chopped nuts for extra crunch.
Drizzle caramel sauce on top after baking.
