Ingredients
5 large croissants, torn into pieces
6 large eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
1 cup cooked bacon or sausage
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup chopped green onions or herbs
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
Spread torn croissants evenly in the dish.
Sprinkle cooked bacon or sausage over the croissants, followed by shredded cheese and green onions or herbs.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissants, pressing down gently to help absorption.
Let sit for 10–15 minutes to allow the croissants to soak up the custard.
Bake for 35–40 minutes until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Use stale croissants for better absorption and texture.
Swap bacon or sausage for ham or vegetables for variation.
Try different cheeses like cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss.
Assemble the night before and refrigerate for easy morning baking.
Freeze leftovers for up to 2 months and reheat before serving.
