Ingredients
4 large croissants, sliced in half
4 crispy chicken fillets or chicken tenders
4 slices cheddar, Swiss, or provolone cheese
4 lettuce leaves
1 large tomato, sliced
1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced
4 pickle slices
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard or honey mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Black pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Cook the crispy chicken fillets according to the package directions or prepare homemade crispy chicken until golden brown and fully cooked.
Slice the croissants in half and lightly toast them if desired.
Spread the mayonnaise on one half of each croissant and the Dijon mustard or honey mustard on the other half.
Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each croissant.
Add a crispy chicken fillet on top of the lettuce.
Place a slice of cheese over the warm chicken so it begins to soften.
Top with tomato slices, red onion, and pickle slices.
Sprinkle the tomatoes with garlic powder and black pepper if desired.
Close each sandwich with the top half of the croissant.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Use chicken fillets or tenders that fit the croissant for easier assembly.
Add bacon, avocado, coleslaw, jalapeños, or pepper jack cheese for delicious variations.
Try spicy mayo, chipotle sauce, ranch dressing, or barbecue sauce for extra flavor.
Store the cooked chicken separately from the croissants and vegetables for up to 3 days.
Reheat the chicken in a 350°F (175°C) oven or air fryer for 4–6 minutes to restore crispiness.
Assemble the sandwiches just before serving to keep the croissants fresh and flaky.
