Creamy French Dressing is a rich, tangy, and slightly sweet homemade dressing that comes together in minutes with simple pantry ingredients. It’s perfect for salads, vegetable platters, sandwiches, and wraps.

Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise
  • Ketchup
  • White vinegar
  • Granulated sugar or honey
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Milk or buttermilk (to adjust consistency)

Instructions

  1. Add the mayonnaise and ketchup to a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk in the white vinegar, granulated sugar or honey, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
  3. Stir in the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Slowly whisk in the milk or buttermilk until the dressing reaches the desired consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust the sweetness, tanginess, or seasoning as needed.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Stir well before serving over salads, vegetables, or sandwiches.

Notes

  • Substitute Greek yogurt for part of the mayonnaise for a lighter version.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for gentle heat.
  • Mix in Dijon mustard for extra tanginess.
  • Use smoked paprika for a deeper flavor.
  • Stir in fresh parsley or chives for added freshness.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Shake or stir before serving if separation occurs.
  • Do not freeze, as the creamy texture may separate after thawing.
