Creamy Avocado Sauce is a rich, smooth, and versatile condiment that adds a burst of fresh flavor to tacos, grilled meats, pasta, and more. Made with ripe avocados, lime juice, and simple ingredients, it’s quick, customizable, and perfect for drizzling, dipping, or spreading.

Ingredients

  1. 1 ripe avocado
1/4 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream (optional for added creaminess)
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
    12 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup water (or more to reach desired consistency)
    Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
1/2 teaspoon cumin or chili powder (optional for added flavor)

Instructions

Prepare the Avocado: Cut the ripe avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh into a blender or food processor.

  1. Add the Other Ingredients: Add the Greek yogurt or sour cream (if using), lime juice, garlic, olive oil, and water to the blender or food processor. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Blend Until Smooth: Blend the ingredients together until smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  3. Taste and Adjust: Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning as needed. You can add extra lime juice for more tang, or a pinch of cumin or chili powder for a bit of spice.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Once the sauce is smooth and seasoned to your liking, transfer it to a bowl and serve immediately. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a vegan version, swap the Greek yogurt or sour cream with a dairy-free yogurt or use hummus.
  • Add a sliced jalapeño or a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
  • For extra tanginess, add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar.
