Cranberry salsa is a vibrant, tangy, and slightly sweet condiment made with fresh cranberries, herbs, and citrus. It’s a refreshing and bold addition to chips, meats, and holiday dishes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeded and chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar or honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cranberries and remove any soft or damaged ones.
  2. Add the cranberries to a food processor and pulse until coarsely chopped.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and mix in the chopped red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.
  4. Stir in lime juice, sugar or honey, and salt.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness, salt, or spice as needed.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  7. Serve chilled with chips or as a topping.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness to balance the natural tartness of cranberries.
  • Use orange juice instead of lime for a different citrus twist.
  • Add mango or pineapple for extra sweetness and texture.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and stir before serving.
  • Best served cold; freezing is not recommended.
