Coconut Cream is a rich, creamy, and naturally dairy-free ingredient made from the thick, fatty part of coconut milk. It’s perfect for adding luscious texture and tropical flavor to desserts, sauces, smoothies, and savory dishes.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cans (13.5 oz each) full-fat coconut milk (chilled overnight)

Instructions

Place chilled cans of coconut milk in the refrigerator overnight without shaking.

  1. Carefully open the cans and scoop out the thick, creamy layer that has solidified at the top, leaving the watery liquid behind (reserve for smoothies or other uses).
  2. Transfer the coconut cream to a bowl and whip with a hand mixer for a few minutes until light and fluffy, if desired.
  3. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  1. Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or sweetener for dessert toppings.
  2. Use coconut cream as a base for dairy-free whipped cream.
  3. Incorporate into smoothies for creaminess and flavor.
  4. Use in curries, soups, or sauces for richness.
  5. Freeze in ice cube trays for easy portioning.
