Ingredients
4 clementines, peeled and separated into segments
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup, optional
1/2 cup ice cubes
Instructions
Peel the clementines, separate them into segments, and remove as much of the white pith as possible.
Add the clementine segments, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, milk, vanilla extract, and optional honey or maple syrup to a blender.
Blend on high until smooth and creamy.
Add the ice cubes and blend again until the smoothie is thick and frosty.
If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash of milk and blend again. For a thicker consistency, add a few more ice cubes or extra frozen banana.
Pour into glasses and serve immediately while cold and creamy.
Notes
Add a little fresh orange zest for a stronger citrus aroma and flavor.
For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free yogurt and almond, oat, or coconut milk.
For a smoothie bowl, reduce the milk and add extra frozen banana. Top with granola, fruit, coconut, or chia seeds.
Frozen mango or pineapple can be added for a tropical variation.
Leave out the honey or maple syrup for a less-sweet smoothie.
Fresh clementines can be replaced with oranges, mandarins, or tangerines.
For a banana-free version, substitute frozen mango or use extra Greek yogurt and ice.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and stir or shake well before serving.
For longer storage, freeze leftover smoothie in an ice cube tray and reblend the cubes with a splash of milk.
