Ingredients

  • Quick Bread:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon Swirl:
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Crunch Topping:
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons cold butter, cubed
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, sea salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sour cream, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the cinnamon swirl.
  6. Prepare the crunch topping by combining the brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly, then stir in the nuts if using.
  7. Spread half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Spoon the cinnamon swirl mixture evenly over the batter.
  9. Top with the remaining batter and sprinkle the crunch topping evenly over the surface.
  10. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
