Chocolate Mousse Cups are rich, creamy individual desserts made with silky chocolate mousse and topped with elegant garnishes. These light yet indulgent no-bake treats are perfect for dinner parties, holidays, or anytime you want a luxurious chocolate dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh berries for garnish (optional)
  • Cocoa powder for garnish (optional)
  • Crushed cookies for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate gently using a double boiler or microwave in short intervals, stirring until smooth.
  2. Allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks into the chocolate until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream with powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until soft peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture in batches until smooth and airy.
  6. Spoon or pipe the mousse into serving cups or glasses.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
  8. Before serving, whip the remaining heavy cream and add it as a topping if desired.
  9. Garnish with chocolate shavings, berries, cocoa powder, or crushed cookies.
