Chinese Pasta is a quick and flavorful fusion dish that combines tender pasta, crisp vegetables, and a savory Asian-inspired sauce. Ready in about 30 minutes, it’s an easy and satisfying meal for busy weeknights or meal prep.

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti, linguine, or other long pasta
  • Olive oil or vegetable oil
  • Sesame oil
  • Garlic, minced
  • Fresh ginger, grated
  • Onion, sliced
  • Red bell pepper, sliced
  • Carrots, julienned
  • Broccoli florets
  • Snap peas or snow peas
  • Soy sauce
  • Oyster sauce
  • Hoisin sauce
  • Brown sugar or honey
  • Rice vinegar
  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar or honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and water until smooth.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil and sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Stir in the garlic and ginger and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add the bell pepper, carrots, broccoli, and snap peas, then stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until crisp-tender.
  7. Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet and cook until it begins to thicken.
  8. Add the cooked pasta and toss until evenly coated with the sauce.
  9. Cook for another 2–3 minutes so the pasta absorbs the flavors.
  10. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and crushed red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add chicken, beef, shrimp, pork, or tofu for extra protein.
  • Frozen stir-fry vegetables work well as a convenient substitute.
  • Cook the pasta al dente to prevent it from becoming too soft.
  • Adjust the spice level with sriracha, chili garlic sauce, or extra red pepper flakes.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze for up to 2 months and reheat with a splash of water or soy sauce if needed.
