Cheeseburger Pie is a baked, one-dish meal featuring ground beef, cheese, and a simple biscuit-style batter. It’s a family-friendly comfort food that delivers all the flavors of a classic cheeseburger in casserole form—perfect for weeknights or casual dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour or biscuit mix
  • 1 tsp baking powder (if using flour)
  • Optional: 1 tbsp mustard or ketchup mixed into the beef
  • Optional toppings: pickles, tomatoes, extra cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess grease and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread beef mixture into prepared pie dish. Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, flour (or biscuit mix), and baking powder if needed.
  5. Pour batter evenly over the beef and cheese layer.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden and set.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve with desired toppings.

  • For added flavor, mix ketchup or mustard into the beef before layering.
  • Make it gluten-free by using a gluten-free flour or baking mix.
  • Add cooked bacon, jalapeños, or mushrooms for variations.
