A thick and creamy mango protein smoothie flavored with warming chai spices, Greek yogurt, and vanilla protein powder. It is a quick and satisfying option for breakfast, a snack, or a post-workout drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 3/4 cup milk or unsweetened plant-based milk
  • 1/2 cup plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
  • 1/2 cup ice, optional

Instructions

  1. Add the milk to a blender first, followed by the Greek yogurt, protein powder, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, and optional vanilla extract.
  2. Add the frozen mango chunks and optional ice for a thicker, frostier smoothie.
  3. Blend on high until completely smooth and creamy.
  4. If the smoothie is too thick, add another splash of milk and blend again until it reaches your preferred consistency.
  5. Taste and add honey or maple syrup if additional sweetness is desired. Blend briefly to combine.
  6. Pour into a tall glass and serve immediately while cold and creamy.

Notes

  • Add half a frozen banana for extra thickness and natural sweetness.
  • For a dairy-free version, use plant-based milk, dairy-free yogurt, and plant-based protein powder.
  • For stronger chai flavor, slightly increase the cinnamon and cardamom or use chilled milk infused with a chai tea bag.
  • Add 1 tablespoon chia seeds or ground flaxseed for extra texture and nutrition.
  • Add almond or cashew butter for a richer, nuttier flavor.
  • A handful of baby spinach can be blended in for a green variation.
  • Fresh mango can replace frozen mango; add about 1 cup ice to create a cold, thick texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and shake or stir well before drinking.
  • Leftovers can also be frozen in an ice cube tray and later reblended with a splash of milk.
