Camping Breakfast Sandwiches are hearty and satisfying with eggs, melty cheese, and savory breakfast meat layered on toasted English muffins or rolls. Perfect for campfires, portable stoves, or easy outdoor breakfasts on busy mornings.

Ingredients

  • 4 English muffins, bagels, or sandwich rolls
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 slices bacon, 4 sausage patties, or 4 slices ham
  • 4 cheddar cheese slices
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
  • 1 tomato, sliced (optional)
  • Hot sauce for serving (optional)
  • 1 cup spinach (optional)
  • 1/4 cup caramelized onions (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon, sausage patties, or ham in a skillet over a campfire grate, grill, or portable stove until fully cooked.
  2. Remove the meat from the skillet and keep warm.
  3. Lightly butter the English muffins or sandwich rolls and toast until golden brown.
  4. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook to your preferred doneness.
  5. Season the eggs with salt and black pepper.
  6. Place cheese slices over the hot eggs and allow them to melt slightly.
  7. Assemble the sandwiches by layering toasted bread, cooked meat, eggs, cheese, and optional toppings such as avocado, tomato, spinach, or caramelized onions.
  8. Serve immediately while warm with hot sauce if desired.

Notes

  • Use croissants, biscuits, or bagels instead of English muffins for variety.
  • Add hash browns inside the sandwiches for extra texture and flavor.
  • Wrap sandwiches in foil to keep them warm while camping.
  • Freeze fully assembled sandwiches individually wrapped for up to 1 month.
  • Reheat over a skillet, grill, or campfire grate until warmed through.
  • Scrambled eggs can be used instead of fried eggs for easier assembly.
