Campfire Breakfast Burgers are hearty outdoor burgers loaded with juicy beef patties, eggs, cheese, and crispy breakfast favorites. Perfect for camping trips, brunch, or breakfast-for-dinner around the fire.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 slices bacon or 4 sausage patties
  • 4 cheddar cheese slices
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil
  • 1 cup hash browns (optional)
  • 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
  • 1 tomato, sliced (optional)
  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions (optional)
  • Barbecue sauce for serving (optional)
  • Hot sauce for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a campfire grate, grill, or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Shape the ground beef into 4 burger patties and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  3. Cook the burger patties for 4 to 5 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
  4. During the final minutes of cooking, place cheddar cheese slices on top of the patties and allow them to melt.
  5. Cook the bacon or sausage until crisp and fully cooked.
  6. Lightly toast the burger buns over the fire or on the grill.
  7. Heat butter or oil in a skillet and cook the eggs to your preferred style, such as fried or scrambled.
  8. Assemble the burgers by layering buns, burger patties, bacon or sausage, eggs, and desired toppings such as hash browns, avocado, tomato, onions, barbecue sauce, or hot sauce.
  9. Serve warm immediately.

Notes

  • Use turkey or chicken patties for a lighter variation.
  • Pepper jack cheese adds extra heat and flavor.
  • Do not press the burger patties while cooking to keep them juicy.
  • Store leftover components separately in airtight containers for up to 3 days.
  • Toast fresh buns before serving leftovers for the best texture.
  • These burgers pair well with hash browns, breakfast potatoes, or baked beans.
