  • All-purpose flour, heat-treated and cooled
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Cream cheese, softened
  • Unsalted butter, softened
  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat-treat the flour by spreading it evenly on a baking sheet and heating it in a 350°F (175°C) oven until it reaches 165°F (74°C). Allow the flour to cool completely.
  2. Sift the cooled flour and cocoa powder together to remove any lumps.
  3. Place the softened cream cheese and butter in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Beat until smooth, creamy, and well combined.
  5. Add the powdered sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  6. Beat again until light and smooth.
  7. Gradually mix in the heat-treated flour and cocoa powder until evenly incorporated.
  8. Add milk or heavy cream a little at a time until the dip reaches a creamy, scoopable consistency.
  9. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  10. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and top with additional mini chocolate chips if desired.
  11. Serve immediately with fruit, pretzels, graham crackers, wafers, or cookies, or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Do not use untreated raw flour in this no-bake recipe. Heat the flour to 165°F (74°C) and cool it completely before mixing the dip.
  • Heat-treated flour can be prepared in advance and stored in a clean airtight container.
  • Add milk or heavy cream gradually if the dip is too thick.
  • For a thicker consistency, chill the dip briefly or add a little additional powdered sugar or heat-treated flour.
  • Peanut butter, crushed sandwich cookies, toasted nuts, sprinkles, white chocolate chips, shredded coconut, or mini marshmallows can be added for variations.
  • A small amount of espresso powder can intensify the chocolate flavor.
  • Store the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Let refrigerated dip sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes and stir before serving for a softer consistency.
  • Freezing is not recommended because the cream cheese base may change texture after thawing.
