Brown Butter Toffee Blondies are rich, chewy dessert bars filled with deep caramel flavor from browned butter and crunchy toffee bits. Soft in the center with crisp golden edges, these blondies are an irresistible treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1/2 cup white or semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma.
  3. Remove the browned butter from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the browned butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  5. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  8. Fold in the toffee bits and chocolate chips if using.
  9. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  10. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Allow the blondies to cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top before baking for a salted caramel flavor.
  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
  • Do not overbake to keep the blondies soft and chewy.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze blondies for up to 2 months and thaw before serving.
  • Warm individual blondies briefly in the microwave for a gooey texture.
