Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 4 pita breads or flatbreads
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/4 cup sliced onions
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt or garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Pickles (optional addition)
  • French fries (optional addition)
  • Hot sauce (optional addition)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, paprika, cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper, salt, and lemon juice.
  2. Add the sliced beef and toss well to coat.
  3. Marinate for at least 30 minutes for best flavor.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Cook the beef for 6 to 8 minutes until browned and fully cooked.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the yogurt or garlic sauce with lemon juice and garlic.
  7. Warm the pita breads or flatbreads slightly.
  8. Spread sauce onto each wrap.
  9. Add lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onions, and cooked beef.
  10. Add optional pickles, fries, or hot sauce if desired.
  11. Wrap tightly and serve warm.
