This homemade hot chocolate is rich, creamy, and packed with deep chocolate flavor. Made with simple pantry ingredients, it’s the perfect cozy drink for chilly days and comforting evenings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream or marshmallows for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add a few tablespoons of milk and whisk until smooth.
  3. Pour in the remaining milk and heat over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  4. Add the chopped chocolate and continue stirring until completely melted and smooth.
