Banana Bread Latte is a cozy coffeehouse-style drink that combines espresso, ripe banana, warm spices, and creamy milk for the comforting flavor of freshly baked banana bread in a cup. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon pick-me-up.

Ingredients

  • 2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream, optional
  • Ground cinnamon, optional
  • Crushed walnuts, optional
  • Banana slices, optional

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the banana, milk, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.
  2. Blend until completely smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into a small saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until warm, stirring occasionally. Do not boil.
  4. Use a milk frother or whisk to create a light foam if desired.
  5. Brew the espresso or strong coffee and pour it into a large mug.
  6. Slowly pour the warm banana milk mixture over the coffee.
  7. Stir gently to combine.
  8. Top with whipped cream, cinnamon, crushed walnuts, or banana slices if desired.
  9. Serve immediately.
