Balsamic roasted onions are tender, caramelized wedges infused with a rich sweet and tangy glaze. This simple side dish transforms everyday onions into a deeply flavorful addition to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium onions (yellow, red, or sweet), peeled and cut into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey or brown sugar (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the onion wedges on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then season with salt and pepper.
