- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

- Gradually add milk, whisking constantly until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Once the sauce thickens, add the shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, cheese sauce, and hot dog slices. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Optionally, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for extra crunch.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute elbow macaroni with any other short pasta like penne or rigatoni.
- Experiment with different cheese blends like mozzarella or gouda for a unique flavor.
- For extra nutrition, add vegetables like peas, broccoli, or spinach.
- To make it spicy, consider adding diced jalapeños or red pepper flakes
