Baked Garlic Balsamic Steak features tender steaks marinated in a savory blend of garlic and balsamic vinegar, then seared and baked to juicy perfection with a rich, tangy glaze—ideal for a special dinner or elegant weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  1. 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1-inch thick)
    1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary or thyme
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

In a bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, olive oil, soy sauce, honey, dried herbs, salt, and pepper to prepare the marinade.

  1. Place steaks in a shallow dish or resealable bag. Pour marinade over the steaks and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 4 hours.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove steaks from marinade (reserve marinade) and sear for 2 minutes on each side until browned.
  4. Transfer steaks to a baking dish, pour reserved marinade over them, and bake for 8-12 minutes, depending on desired doneness.
  5. Remove steaks from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with pan juices drizzled on top.

Notes

  1. Use different cuts like flank steak, filet mignon, or strip steak for variation.
  2. Substitute fresh rosemary, thyme, or oregano for dried herbs for stronger flavor.
  3. Add vegetables such as cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, or asparagus to bake alongside the steak.
  4. Include crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne in the marinade for a spicy kick.
