Ingredients

2 cans (5 oz each) tuna packed in water, drained
1 ripe avocado
1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: chopped fresh parsley or dill

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mash the avocado until smooth but slightly chunky.
  2. Add drained tuna, red onion, celery, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard to the bowl.
  3. Mix gently until well combined.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Stir in fresh herbs if using.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 1 day before serving.

Notes

  • Add diced cucumber or bell peppers for extra crunch.
  • Mix in a teaspoon of Greek yogurt for added creaminess.
  • Use lime juice instead of lemon for a different citrus note.
  • Add a pinch of smoked paprika or chili flakes for heat.
  • Serve on whole-grain bread, lettuce wraps, or crackers.
  • Store in airtight container in refrigerator up to 1 day; best enjoyed fresh.
  • Freezing is not recommended due to avocado texture changes.
