Avocado Green Goddess Dip is a creamy, herb-packed dip made with ripe avocados, Greek yogurt, fresh herbs, and bright lemon juice. It’s a fresh, flavorful appetizer that’s perfect with vegetables, crackers, chips, or as a spread for sandwiches and wraps.

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 jalapeño, seeded (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a food processor or blender.
  2. Add the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, parsley, cilantro, chives, basil, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, green onions, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or lemon juice if needed.
  5. Add the optional jalapeño and blend again for a spicy variation.
  6. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl.
  7. Refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  8. Garnish with chopped fresh herbs, a drizzle of olive oil, or cracked black pepper before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Use ripe avocados for the creamiest texture.
  • Replace the mayonnaise with additional Greek yogurt for a lighter dip.
  • Add spinach or crumbled feta for flavorful variations.
  • Press plastic wrap directly onto the surface before refrigerating to help prevent browning.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Serve with fresh vegetables, crackers, tortilla chips, or use as a sandwich spread.
