A delightful apple cranberry pie combining sweet apples and tart cranberries in a flaky golden crust. This festive dessert offers a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

  • 1 double pie crust (top and bottom)
  • 5 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out bottom crust and place it in a pie dish.
  3. In a large bowl, combine apples, cranberries, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
  4. Mix until fruit is evenly coated.
  5. Pour filling into prepared crust and dot with butter.
  6. Roll out top crust, place over filling, seal edges, and cut slits for ventilation.
  7. Place pie on a baking sheet to catch drips.
  8. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until crust is golden and filling is bubbling.
  9. Cool for at least 1 hour before slicing.
  10. Serve warm or at room temperature.

  • Frozen cranberries can be used without thawing.
