Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
3 cups apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking pan.
Peel, core, and slice apples into thin pieces.
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In another bowl, cream butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture and combine.
Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
Spread sliced apples evenly over the base.
Sprinkle additional cinnamon if desired.
Crumble remaining dough over the apples.
Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and set.
Cool before slicing into bars.
