Air Fryer Sweet Potato Chips are a crispy and flavorful snack made with thinly sliced sweet potatoes and minimal oil. These healthier homemade chips are easy to prepare, naturally gluten-free, and perfect for snacking or serving with your favorite dips.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the sweet potatoes thoroughly.
  2. Using a mandoline slicer or sharp knife, slice the sweet potatoes into very thin, even rounds.
  3. Place the slices in a bowl of cold water and soak for 20 to 30 minutes.
  4. Drain and pat the slices completely dry with paper towels.
  5. Transfer the slices to a large bowl and toss with olive oil, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 325°F (165°C) for 3 minutes.
  7. Arrange the sweet potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if needed.
  8. Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
  9. Monitor closely during the final few minutes to prevent burning.
  10. Remove the chips when golden and crisp around the edges.
  11. Allow the chips to cool for several minutes to crisp further.
  12. Serve immediately.
